Facility access with a booking instead of a membership

By default, the GymMaster system requires visitors to have a membership in order to be granted door access to your facility. However, your readers can be configured to grant access to visitors with a booking, regardless of their membership status.

What this means is that you can set up your system for casual members (those without a membership) to get in to the facility provided they have a booking on a resource you have approved for access.

Setup

If membership-less access for visitors with bookings is something that you want, you can set this up by navigating to Settings > Doors & Readers, and then selecting the [Edit] option for the required door reader.

The first step is to setup some Associated Resources. This is where you choose which of your resources, locations or trainers, will be linked with this reader for some special behaviour, defined as the Resource Behaviour.

The Resource Behaviour can be either:

  • Bookings Required: Only grant access to visitors if they have a booking on one of the listed resources.
    • This option will prevent members with memberships but no booking, as well as non-members without a booking from getting access.
  • Booking Access: Grant access to visitors if they have a booking on one of the listed resources, even if they don't have a membership.
    • This option will not affect members with memberships.

Both of these options will allow visitors without a membership, provided they have a relevant booking.

Example

An example showing reader configuration which allows visitors through this door if they have a booking on the Spin Room resource. Additionally, visitors are able to get access up to 30 minutes before their booking starts, and up until 5 minutes before the booking ends.
