How to connect your Square Terminal

Connecting your Square Terminal to GymMaster is quick and straightforward.

Once connected, you’ll be able to take in-person card payments directly through your POS.

What You’ll Need

  • A supported  Square Terminal. Square only sell one terminal; the model may change over time but it will remain compatible with GymMaster.

  • The terminal fully charged

  • The terminal connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or Ethernet)

    See Square Terminal Setup instructions.

Connect the Terminal

If your terminal is currently signed in with a Square account, you’ll need to sign out first so GymMaster can authorise the connection.

To sign out:

  • Swipe open the menu from the left

  • Go to Settings → Sign Out

1. Prepare  Terminal

On the Square Terminal:

  • Tap Sign In

  • Select Use a Device Code

Leave this screen open.

2. Generate Device Code

In GymMaster:

  • Go to Settings > Financial Configuration > Point of Sale > POS Stations

  • Select the POS station you want to connect

  • Click Add Square Device to Station

A short device code will appear.

These codes expire after 5 minutes, so enter it straight away.
If no code appears, an expired code may still be active. Contact GymMaster support and we’ll clear it so you can retry.

3. Authorize the Terminal

Enter the device code shown in GymMaster into the Square Terminal and tap Sign In.

Once accepted, your terminal is linked to that POS station and ready to go.

Taking Payments

Use the Square Terminal Card Present button in GymMaster POS to process in-person payments.

The terminal handles the transaction securely, and GymMaster records the payment against the sale automatically.
