Customising your reports

To meet the different reporting requirements of facilities, GymMaster's reporting system is designed to be highly customisable. Starting with any base report, you can add or remove columns to suit your needs. Take the Current Members report, for example. This report is based on members, which means any field related to a member and their details can be added to it.

Pro Tip: For any custom reporting, we recommend duplicating the base report first, then modifying the duplicate for your specific purpose. This helps keep your original reports clean and available for general use.

To adjust the fields in a report, click the [Edit Report] button instead of the usual [Show Report] button. This opens a page listing all of the current fields in that report. You can use drag & drop to move fields into the desired order, or remove them using the [Remove] button.

Now, let’s say you want to include date of birth in the Current Members report. You can add this by:

  • Clicking the Add Field dropdown

  • Selecting Date of Birth from the list

  • Clicking the [+ Add] button to confirm

Note: The field selection list is both categorised and searchable.

Keep in mind the base report category when adding new fields. Since the Current Members report is based on members, you can add details related to a member. But what if you also want to include which membership the member is on? That’s possible, but requires a change to "How should rows be grouped", to allow multiple to show if required (Default), and it may be more appropriate to use a different report, such as Current Memberships.

For more on how GymMaster prioritises which membership is shown, check out the article: Which is the Primary Membership for members with more than one?

You can take report customisation further by filtering results based on the fields in your report. See the article Filtering your reports for more on this.

If your report ends up missing columns, or you simply want to go back to the original layout, use [Return to Default] to restore the preset fields.
